The greater surface area of the Jumbo body fills the room with sound. It has an even frequancy response with the large bottom end that one would expect from the increased body size.

The EJ85 has a soundboard of "AA" grade solid sitka spruce, solid Blackwood back and sides, and a neck of select Queensland Maple. The bridge is Rosewood, as is the fingerboard which is finished with a  Mother of Pearl Dot inlay. The EJ85model is easily recognised by its Blackwood Veneer keyhole headstock and its high gloss finish. This model is available as a left handed instrument.
